Live from War Gym: The girls and boys finals of the 2013 Telus Basketball Classic

We are at the half in the boys final and Burnaby South is leading Winston Churchill in a tense, emotional affair 38-36.

Djordje Obradovich leads the Rebels with 13 points, while Jermaine Haley added 10 points and Martin Bogajev eight points.

Isaiah Ugoalah led the Bulldogs with 16 points. Reegan O’Gorman added seven for Churchill.

The Bulldogs trailed 25-15 at one stage but came stroming back with a 16-2 run that began late in the first quarter, and led 28-27.

After one quarter Burnaby South leads Winston Churchill 25-16 in the boys final.

*Brooskwood an 83-47 winner over Riverside in the girls final.

Is anyone going to stop the Brookswood Bobcats? We’re now heading into the fourth quarter and Brookswood leads Riverside 75-31. The closest anyone has come to Brookswood this week at the Telus has been 32 points (79-47) by St. Thomas Aquinas in Friday’s semifinals.

B.C.’s Triple A No. 1 leading Riverside of PoCo 54-17 with 8:13 remaining in the third quarter.

*Five minute remaining in the first half, and Brookswood leads Riverside 33-12 in the girls final.

In the boys third-place game, Jonathan Kongbo scored a game-high 31 points, leading Surrey’s Holy Cross Crusaders to an 82-68 win over North Vancouver’s Handsworth Royals.
In the girls third-place game, the battle of North Vancouver saw the St. Thomas Aquinas Fighting Saints go to overtime and edge the Windsor Dukes 59-58.
